Default Daisy chaining Glyph Drives USB/Firewire 800 Mix

I'm running a USB from my iMac 2018 (10.13.2)out to a Glyph GT062e. No issues. I have the Glyph daisy chained to another older Glyph GT062 via Firewire 800 which won't show up in Finder/Disk Utility. Is this a non-starter and should I just pack up my old Firewire in an old kit bag?

As you have discovered, even though the drive has both USB and FireWire connectivity, it doesn't do protocol conversion. If you have thunderbolt, you can get a thunderbolt to FireWire adapter.

Thanks Jimmy. I've already got both my Thunderbolt ports used up but even with a spare port I'd still probably backing the wrong horse as Firewire speeds are comparatively so slow these days? Better to ditch the old Glyph and get a new one?

You should still be able to patch it on the same FireWire bus as the 003R for backup storage purposes.
