Trouble installing the ilok HELP!

Is there a specific process you have to go through to install the ilok? I want to authorize my factory plugins for my mbox, but I cant get it to work. I've tried putting the key in first and then installing the software, I've tried it the other way around. When I put the key in my usb port it recognizes it as the ilok, but then I get the "there was a problem installing your new hardware so it might not work properly" error. And yes I've tried different usb ports. Anyone have any ideas?
