Default Protools As It Is Today

First of all people should know that PT11 works great with Sierra, which is an excellent OS to use.

What progress did Avid make since that version?

One things definitely happened - all kinds of new words came up - things like Perpetual, non-perpetual, ultimate, monthly subscription, annual subscription.... Clearly there are Avid employees who's job it is (rather than help the audio community) to create 'situations' which will make the company money at the expense of their users.

It's common knowledge among retailers that Avid are unhelpful. Engineers are moving on to other DAWs.

Well done Avid - you are making yourselves gradually more and more hated.

I intend to upgrade my software around Christmas 2029...

the subscription idea has lead to 2018-2019 pt,
stuff late and lame, what incentive does avid programmers, or even management have to provide solid updates?*or even remain competitive?
what is has clearly done is created complacency .....
I downloaded a demo of studio one, I purchased it the next day, drag and drop baby, what a workflow.
have fun with pro tools guys.*

Despite the increase in voices, not reallly seeing a performance improvement here. I’ve been on 2019.6 since Sunday and have already had 3-4 random crashes- one access error while using Vocalign and 3 others that did the POOF Pro Tools is just gone and I have to relaunch. One of those times I was testing out adding plugins without the engine stopping. Well, it stopped. Going to be hard to justify renewing in December unless they roll out a smoking release before then. I just don’t see it happening. The most exciting new feature I gained this past year is the ability to search for plugins. Great feature but not really worth $349. I’m only paying this sorry company so I won’t get gouged harder at renewal. Terrible company with a terrible business model.
