Angry Re: corrupt audio files PT 8.0.3

I had exactly the same trouble on two different internal audio drives in last two weeks. Different projects, Different track templates. Different unhappy clients. Saving session "As copy in" including audio files before closing would help, but there's no time in the middle of recording session.
Seems to be a big problem

I save as all the time - even during takes. 8.0.3/10.5.8. Save as for each new part - and I try to keep the name of the PT session as short as possible.

Save-As is your friend

Last week a 7.4 system ate two sessions with -7100 errors and completely corrupted session-backup-files. The TDM bus wasn't responding. No amount of import session data or pref-flush, or any magic voodoo would fix it.

Seems that it's not just 8 that can fail you ...

Neither a snip or a snipe, just an observation based on your own statements.

PT 8.0.3 SnowLeopard on MacPro. Do we all have a problem with hard drives?
That must be another big 8.0.3 bug

OK, I just had this issue again on a totally different external firewire drive. Everything appears fine when I close the session, but the next time I open, one missing file. File appears in Audio Files folder, but it won't import or preview like the others. This is super scary.

I'm going back to 7.4 until somebody from digi can look into this. definitely not a failing hard drive.

for the record, the system thats been having trouble for me is:

M-Powered 8.0.3
Mac OS 10.6.2 on a 2GHz Intel iMac
(don't think this matters, but...) Apogee AD16 converters hitting M-Powered Profire 2626 over ADAT
