waves 6 and waves 8

hey

is it possible to have both waves 6 and 8 bundles running on the same machine?

i have an old bundle that i bought with my system , the guy i bought it from gave me an ilok with registered waves 6 on it , i got the mercury bundle v.6
now , i can't upgrade it since it is not registered on my name , and i can't find the guy that sold me the bundle and my PTHD system ,

i would like to buy some new stuff like the : CLA compressors bundle , vocal rider etc...which can be bought for V.8 , i can't figure out if it will work on my Rig or it would make it crash - or overwrite the V.6 uncles which i can't live without....

any ideas?

Hi,

Should work ok! you might need to remove the v6 waveshells from the plugins folder whilst you install the new plugins? otherwise it will remove the old v6 waveshell/s when it installs the v8 waveshell.

you could demo one of the v8 plugins to check it works first before buying!!


just remember to remove the v6 waveshell/s and store them somewhere whilst installing the new plugins, then return the v6 waveshell/s back into the plugins folder after the new v8 plugs have been installed.

Infact back-up your entire plugins folder before doing anything so you can revert back if needed.
