Your input has been very valuable. After some serious internal debating, I will upgrade to High Serria and use PT12. As my I/O I will use my Apollo quad FireWire and buy a OCTO card for more DSP.


There is no sense to use 10 when 12 and or 2018 will work just fine with my system and allowing me the opportunity to upgrade later.

Neat, glad you have a plan. And especially if you like the UAD plugins TDM may not be a natural fit there (e.g. it's opposite in latency with TDM DSP and UAD DSP plugins in Pro Tools) and if you like UAD invest money in those plugins instead of buying TDM plugins.

Today, TDM is something you wish to build for little money and leave it there without any plans of upgrading it later. It is good for that and still performs exceptionally well as before
