PT10 Fresh Install doesn't show my AAX plugins...
Hi Guys,
couldn't find this on the forum and I'm sure it's a user error somewhere but.... I had to do a complete fresh install of OSX Lion and PT10 (the reasons being OS issue not pro tools). PT 10 no longer sees my Avid plugins folder and consequently doesn't load AAX Channel Strip etc. The folder is definitely there (HD>Lib>App Support>Avid>Audio>Plug-ins) as are the plugs but they no longer appear in PT10. Any Ideas? And when I say a 'fresh install' I literally mean that. NOT Time machine backup but wiped clean start again and am yet to replace any old prefs files or docs etc. Thanks and hope you can help!

Re: PT10 Fresh Install doesn't show my AAX plugins...
I actually had to do a fresh install of OSX Lion for this exact reason! When I first 'upgraded' from Snow Leopard and installed PT10, Pro Tools was not seeing my AAX folder either.
Sounds like it could be a similar problem for you. My suggestion is to Clean Uninstall PT10. Make sure there are no 3rd party plugins or instruments installed. Then install Pro Tools again. Check if it works before installing anything else (including the instrument pack, or ANY third party plugins). If it does work, then carefully install additional plugins/instruments as needed, being careful to check that Pro Tools its still launching properly after each install [this is what I did...] And make sure to TM backup with frequency so you can always go back. If, on the other hand, you still aren't able to get AAX plugins to load, then my recommendation would be to do another fresh install of Lion. |

Re: PT10 Fresh Install doesn't show my AAX plugins...
Thanks anearforgear,
will try the fresh install of PT10 first off and see how I go. I did NOT check the AAX plugins before installing 3rd party stuff so it could be related as you said. Just seems stance that the plugins are right there to see, but do not read! Regards, M

Re: *SOLVED* - PT10 Fresh Install doesn't show my AAX plugins...
Hello,
yup - clean install of PT10 did the track. FYI - I didn't remove the 3rd party stuff beforehand (sorry, I'm an anarchist ) and it still worked fine. Thanks again! M
