Default Does this exist? (sort of a zoom question)

Working with a big session, still getting my head around the various zoom toggles, which are great for what they do.

I was wondering if there's a way to set up the edit window so that you can go to predefined tracks or areas - so that rather than scrolling down to get to the reverb returns, I can use a key command. Then, back to drums, guitars, whatever.

I'm happy to RTFM, just can't seem to find it - possibly because it doesn't exist. Maybe grouping would do it, but then you get into your edits affecting everything in the group, which I don't want.

Thanks!

Myles

View - Track numbers. Ctrl+Alt+F (Win) , enter track number. (PT Ref Guide p.209),
or,
Memory Locations , Time Properties None , General Properties Track Show/Hide (PT Ref Guide p.777),
(deselect all tracks , select drum tracks , mem loc , name it "drums", deselect all tracks , select vocal tracks , mem loc , ...
can be combined with Window Configs,
can be recalled easily (PT Ref Guide p.778).

Thanks, Joachim, I'll dig up the Mac equivalents and give it a shot. Really appreciate it.

Well, I created a couple of memory locations, but can't recall them, either from the memory locations window or using the keypad. In other words, after creating one, clicking on that location in the locations window, or pressing . "location number" . on the numeric keypad, doesn't take me anywhere. I'm sure there's something I'm not understanding.

I've read through the sections on memory locations, and followed all the instructions to the letter, but no joy.

The direct track access works really well, I just need to keep notes for what's where.

If you have any ideas, they'd be very welcome, but thanks for your help in any case.
