Long session loading times when Pro Tools just loaded
Hi,
Having a little trouble getting my setup to work the way it should. Whenever Pro Tools has just started and I open the first session of the day, Pro Tools stops responding for 4~5 minutes and gives a blank screen. After that, PT works perfectly, switching between sessions is no problem and everything is golden. Although quitting PT and starting it gives me the same problem again. It's only occuring when loading the first session. I suspect it has something to do with my converters/asio drivers but I'm not sure about that. I think so because the popup window that shows when PT is reponding again tells me the I/O settings have changed since the last time the session was opened, or something similar; always hardware related. I'm using 2 daisy-chained Echo Audiofire 12 going into a PCIe FireWire card and using the asio4all driver. Once PT is loaded up, everything works perfectly. I hope someone can help me! It's not a huge problem, but it does make me feel stupid when the guys who paid for recording see me twiddling my thumbs for 5 minutes before we can get started... Has anyone else encountered this problem? Thanks for reading! Pete |

Re: Long session loading times when Pro Tools just loaded
We need more info. Please read the 'help us to help you' link that's at the top of every page here. You don't begin to give us enough info on your system. You've only slowed down the process of helping you with the lack of detailed system info.
We're not mind readers here. |

Re: Long session loading times when Pro Tools just loaded
The settings will change if they are different on each session. To stop this do the following.
On the I/O drop down menu, there is a check box that if checked will not allow opening sessions to change the I/O settings. Also click on the "Default" button for each of tabs. It is also a good idea to trash your Prefs and Databases and see if that makes a difference.
