I'm trying this model right here:

Apple Mac Pro 2.93GHz 12-Core "2010-12" with 16GB DDR3, 1.0TB 7200RPM HDD, SuperDrive, Radeon 5770

How does that look?

Only if remixing an old project on that computer. I upgraded to my Windows PC and mostly use it now.

Just did a fresh install of OS X 10.10.5 and PT12.4 HD Native on a SSD 6G Samsung drive and installed into an OWC Accelsior card. http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/SSD/P...sior/S-Carrier

The fader lag / sticky is really bad. All optimizations done. Tried making a brand new 12 session and loaded the CPU by using 50 VI duplicates. So it's not an 11 session to 12 issue. Anyone have a fix, know if this is a bug? Same Mid 2012 12-core Mac Pro. Never saw this with 11 and 10.8.5

I installed Mountain Lion 10.8.5.. Seems a little better with PT12 but still some lags. I still feel I'm moving a little faster in PT10.

Here are the specs one again:

2009 MacPro 4,1 - Two x 2.93 GHz Quad Core 45-nm Xeon X5570
64 GB of RAM
1TB mSata Samsung SSD
The mSATA SSD is on a Addonics Quad mSATA PCIe SSD - http://www.addonics.com/products/ad4mspx2-a.php
12TB RAID 0 made with Two 6TB Seagate 7200RPM Drives

I am going to this:

Apple Mac Pro 2.93GHz 12-Core "2010-12" with 64GB DDR3, 1TB mSata Samsung SSD , SuperDrive, Radeon 5770 12TB RAID 0 made with Two 6TB Seagate Drives

'Apple broke some stuff on our end. We have a fix - we simply need to deploy it but in the meantime I would go 10.9 for OS.' Email from someone high up at Avid.

I've setup a new partition with 10.9.5. Why it's taken Avid so long, who knows. Also spoke to a lead tech at Apple to confirm all this. The major lag is gone

How is the Addonics Quad mSATA PCIe SSD working for you? Do you suspect it in any problems? Were any drivers needed/fireare updates need to run the Addonics? Are you using a 1TB EVO mSata? Do you have any Avid PCIe cards in there with the Addonics Quad?

I feel like it's running fine. The computer does take awhile to hear the Mac OSX startup "ding" other than I don't think it's really the issue.

Two 10.8.5 2009's here running great with PTHD 10.3.x and 12.4. 2010 exactly the same. SATA SSD's in all. Upgraded Apple video cards in all. One system was just running HDX in 12.4 and it was very stable and snappy.
