New audio drive: SATA or Firewire?
I am running Pro Tools 6.1.1 on Windows XP and I'm shopping around for a new audio drive. Are there advantages to using a Firewire drive over an internal drive other than convenience (I have an open internal bay)? Does anyone know if Pro Tools supports Serial ATA (SATA) drives? Western Digital makes a reasonably priced SATA drive called "The Raptor:" 10,000 RPM; 2.99ms ave. latency; 8MB buffer. I'd appreciate any suggestions of which you think I should go with.
Thanks! |
