Default Installing PT 12

Should PT 11 be uninstalled before installing 12? I've seen some info that 12 will overwrite 11. True? Recommendations appreciated.

I always prefer a complete uninstall first. What you may be able to "get away with" isn't always best.
IMHO, it's worth a few extra minutes.

As clean as you can get. With that said, clean OS install is way more important than clean PT install. Ever since 64-bit PT (11.0.0) installing over previous verion has been much smoother. Can also keep multiple versions installed if really needed, but that is another story.

Hmm . . . guess I'll go with a clean install, thank you. Will the uninstall of 11 remove virtual instruments/plugins?

No. You need to go to plugins folder and delete the rest. Even then settings files, presets and such are left behind.

So, 11 plugins and instruments won't play nicely with 12? Different Air stuff for 12?
