Just a observation (frequency of PT updates)
This is just a observation of the number of updates pr year;
2017 - 5 2016 - 6 2015 -10 (the year of the upgrade plan) 2014 - 8 2013 -10 2012 - 8 2011 - 8 In 2005 it was 11 updates...

Re: Just a observation
You think this is bad, you should see the update situation for the S6 control surface. Avid is obviously desperately pinching pennies and you only need to look at their stock performance to understand why. Of course, if they don't start taking their customers and products seriously there won't BE any stock to worry about - again.

Re: Just a observation (frequency of PT updates)
You think this is bad? I don't. Consider; the move from 32 bit(PT10) to 64 bit(PT11) was a complete rewrite of everything. And at least they are trying to solve issues(imagine if 12 was released and followed up by only 1 or 2 bug-fixes.........) Just my 2 cents

Added Note: That's one of the reasons why so many users have complained on the famous 216-page-long Control|24/Pro Control thread, which has had more than 926,000 views, and 2,153 replies from users. They all agree that if the code for the app can be easily converted - then the drivers for Control|24 & Pro Control can be easily converted too. In other words - Forced Obsolescence. Re: Just a observation (frequency of PT updates)
Yeah, I've got to agree. Also, the releases they've had actually have not done much to fix bugs. They only recently started really acknowledging the horrendous -9173 errors and those started with the very first 64-bit version, PT 11, years ago. I want to be clear that I'm not blaming the people at Avid that actually do the work - those that I've dealt with are great. It's the abominable management level people like Chris Gahagan who was finally fired (who amazingly was hired by Symbotic - what could they possibly have been thinking??) and Louis Hernandez who famously defended him forever who are driving the company into the ground through blatant incompetence.
