PT9 will not load. Ilok errors

OK, update!

4th time lucky!

Make sure you turn DEP off completely as per the Avid W7 Optimisation list - not just by specific program. Double check it has turned off before attempting to install PT9 - I had done the cmd instruction but for some reason it hadn't stuck & DEP was still turned on.

Re-ran the cmd instruction & rebooted & DEP was now turned off, ran the installer & PT9 went in A-OK.

ChazC, THANK YOU! This solved my problem AND my command 8 is working under Pro Tools 9 so I had a double bonus today.

Good morning folks. I am also having problems getting PT 9.0 to load. When I first start, I receive an Operating System Error dialog box:

Operating System Error
Cannot create a file when that file already exists.
ID: eOS : 183 / path : 3

When I exit that dialog box, I then get a ProTools error:

ProTools.exe Application error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xC0000142). Click
OK to close the application.

I did a full install with DEP turned off and my Anti-Virus (Kaspersky) disabled. I also installed the latest iLok drivers as well as MBox 2 drivers.

This is on a Dell Latitude E6500 that previously ran ProTools 8 LE.

Any advice or troubleshooting help would be appreciated.

I went through the Windows 7 optimization techniques and found that permanently running PT as Administrator resolved this issue.

Same here, tried all the work-arounds found and then some..........not I'm stuck with no PT's, at all.

AVID/iLok............there are definite driver issues !!!!
