Cant get sound when hook synth to Digi 001 I/O !!!??

i have my 001 hooked up to to an stereo amp with speakers...I can get sound when I play the Demo out of protools....but when I hook up my synths or drum machines to the inputs in the back or front I do not hear anything out of the speakers......I hooked it up according to the manual but the manual does not appear to be very detailed...has anyone had this problem and if so What can I do??!!!

I assume you want to play through the 001, not use it as multi-channel recorder, right?

In that case, on the front of the 001 box is a monitor mode button. Hit that.

Also, I'm pretty sure that monitor mode works with channels 3 and 4...it's been a while so I'm not positive on that, but your start-up guide will tell you.
