What bugs are fixed in 7.4?

As with our HD system, there are some bugs in LE 7.1 that make working with ProTools quite difficult, and we'd like to know if they're fixed before moving to 7.4.

1. When we hit record, the play and record buttons flash for a number of seconds before the system goes into record. This makes it extremely hard to record a voice-over talent because you are constantly stalling for time with the talent as you wait for the software to catch up. As far as I know, the only way to fix this in the current versions is to wipe the digidesign database preferences whenever it occurs. Not only is this an extremely frustrating solution, but it is only temporary and we end up doing it quite often.

2. When playing video out the firewire port, every so often the video simply stops outputting. To solve this we have to turn off "video out firewire" and then turn it on again. Again, this sometimes happens with great frequency and becomes disruptive to the workflow of the session.

3. We purchased DV Toolkit 2 mainly for DigiTranslator and found that it does not output OMF files correctly when run on an Intel Mac. Tech support said this was a known bug and that there was no remedy short of waiting for 7.4 to fix it.

We are running 7.1.1cs2 with a 002 on a MacPro with 10.4.7.

Have the above bugs been fixed? Is there a list of all the fixes implemented in the new version (both LE and HD)? Are there any known bugs yet in 7.4 that we should know about before upgrading?

On the first bit, about how PT just sits there and flashes its lights, are you sure that the 2 bar count off is off?

Good call, somehow the 2-bar countoff got turned on and we hadn't noticed. Strange that dumping the prefs file fixes that, though.

Download and install the latest 7.1 cs update or go to 7.3 with cs5. 7.4 release is LE only AFAIK. At least for the moment. To the best of myknowledge, 7.4 is not a bug fix release but is a new release designed to work on Vista with some new features, mainly Elastic Audio.
