Default Is there something wrong with the Trim plugin?

Is there something wrong with the Trim plugin since Pro Tools 7? I have had situations where is creates an 8000+ sample delay (when I take it off the track the delay drops to a normal amount). Another situation today where the trim plugin would not reload in a session even though there were 4 free Accel chips. Remove and reload yielded a few more Trim plugins, but ultimately I couldn't load any more! What gives?
