Mbox Mini Distorted output problem

Hi Everyone,
I purchased my mbox mini last november. Over the last few weeks iv run into a problem with the mbox. For no reason the outputs on the mbox becomes distorted. The problem can occur when I start up the mbox or it can occur during using the mbox for a recording session, theres no real pattern to it. Iv double checked my cables and my KRK monitors are fine. Even when im not using the mbox for protools such as watching a dvd or using itunes to listen to music the outputs still become distorted out of the blue. Both of the outputs are distorting not just one. Up until now iv had no problems and I havnt made any changes in the way I record with the mbox. Usually I use a Boss GT-8 For recording guitars, and all my levels are fine, I run it directly to the mbox. This problem just happened over the last few weeks, The only way to get the mbox working ok is to restart my mac and open protools again, when I do this the problem could start right away or it might not start at all, again theres no pattern to the distorting. Im using an Intel macbook-2.1ghz-2gb ram-OSX 10.5.4......and protools 8Le
