Default Eleven Rack Driver/Playback Engine Problems

System Info:
MacBook Pro
OS 10.12.3 (Sierra)
Pro Tools 12.7
Eleven Rack
Driver 1.2.12 (most current)

Issue:
Every time I quit Pro Tools, shut off my 11 rack, and close my laptop (not shut down), then come back to it (ie. open laptop and power up 11 rack), when I open Pro Tools it doesn't give me the 11 Rack as an option in the Playback Engine window. It defaults to Pro Tools Aggregate I/O, with the other options being Built In Microphone and Built In Output.

In order to get it to see the 11 rack, I have to restart my machine.

I've tried shutting off the 11 rack first, before closing Pro Tools, but that still produces the same issue when I come back to my laptop the next day.

I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the driver several times, but still experience the same issue.

What's the deal?
Is there a way that I can actually power down the 11 rack, quit PT, and close my laptop without this happening?

My energy saver settings on my macbook are:
(When plugged in, which is almost always)
Turn Display Off: Never
Prevent Computer from sleeping when display is off: Unchecked
Put Hard Disk to sleep when possible: Checked
Wake for Wi-Fi net access: Checked
Enable Power Nap while plugged into a power adapter: Checked

When running off of the battery:
Turn Display Off: Never
Put Hard Disk to sleep when possible: Checked
Slightly dim display while on battery power: Checked
Enable Power Nap while plugged into a power adapter: UnChecked

Did you try powering up the 11Rack before you open the laptop?
Why do you keep shutting off the 11Rack? I've had mine on since i bought it in late 2012.

yep, I've done the power up 11 rack first.

I shut it off to conserve power, and besides, I guess I should also mention that even if I do leave it on, but close everything else, I still experience the same thing.

Also, if I shut down pro tools, but leave the 11 rack on, then I get a bunch of feedback from my monitors (i have the outputs of my 11 rack going into a mixer). I'm pretty sure that this is from whatever preset is active on the 11 rack.

You need to turn off all energy saving on your computer. Sleep should be disabled.

"You need to turn off all energy saving on your computer. Sleep should be disabled."

So I unchecked all the boxes in my energy saver preferences. Still doesn't work.

Basically, what I have found, is you can't simply quit Pro Tools and close your laptop when you're done working. You actually have to shut your laptop down if you want the eleven rack driver to work so that Pro Tools recognizes it as an option for playback.

That's pretty dumb, but I guess that's the way they made it work.

Yes, that is part of energy saving... Sleep, hibernate, ect... all that needs to be off or it messes with the driver.
