Default PROBLEM at startup :(

Hello,
I've searched for many days tens of pages trying to solve this problem, and I joined this forum as my last hope!

I'm having ProTools 10, installed fine but when I start it up, it loads to almost the end but stops saying:
"Pro Tools has encountered an unrecognized component and must now exit"

I'm not plugging in an mbox or anything, I just need the program to work..

WHAT SHOULD I DO ????

Specs:
Dell inspiron 1564
Realtek HD audio normal card
windows 7 ultimate/64x

I'm having ASIO4All setupped as well.

Please help me as I really need it working..

Well said ^^^

and then, try holding the N key while opening Pro Tools, which takes you directly to the audio engine(hardware) selection window, where you can(hopefully) select ASIO4ALL as the audio engine(assuming you have ASIO4ALL setup to use your on-board audio)

And to add. Make sure your using the latest version of ASIO4ALL. Apparently earlier versions had issues.

The Sandra report shows this computer is simply not a good choice for Pro Tools.

Integrated graphics can be a show stopper(I assume this is some kind of integrated video as RAM total is showing some being stolen, usually by the graphics chip)

i3 cpu is the bargain basement processor(and you want power for audio use)

Your recording drive(whichever drive you use) is too slow at 5400 rpm(needs to be 7200 rpm)

Things to try: disable wifi and HDMI audio

Dells, in general, are a crap shoot for Pro Tools(with the exception being the handful of high-end workstations). Maybe someone else has better ideas

Agree with Albee with the hardware issues. The problem too is trying to figure out what the "unrecognized component" is that's stopping Pro Tools from running. The best way to install programs on a DAW IMHO is to install the Operating System and the most basic drivers, and immediately install Pro Tools (preferably with no internet connection). If you're using ASIO4ALL you'll have to install it. Then, before installing any additional plugins or updates - test Pro Tools. If it works, then start adding your other software/plugins and test Pro Tools each time you install something, and if Pro Tools has a problem at some point, then you most likely know the culprit. Plus - if it's a hardware issue, you should know right away. Of course, do all the Optimizations too. Anyway, that's the process I use.
