Default Weird problem with the Pro Tools window on Windows 10

Hey there! I'm having a weird problem with PT12 running on Win 10 that show like this : I'm working on a session and everything is fine and then if I minimize the PT window, very often I just can't bring it back. PT is still running but there's no way to bring the window back so I end up having to crash it all the time.

I'm using a laptop with a second monitor on top of it if that helps.

Anyone has experienced this ?

This has been a bug off and onfor years. I haven't tested it in awhile, it is supposed to be fixed though. Have you tried Alt-Tab?

What "exact" version of Pro Tools are you running?

You haven't updated your profile in some time now.

Yes I would try alt tab, first

Then I would pull the second monitors cable once it locks up and see if I could get it unfrozen

The few times I've had this issue, the only thing that worked was hovering the cursor over the PT Icon in the Taskbar, then, when the Peek appeared, right clicking on the Peek and choosing Restore or Maximize.

And yes, not all versions of PT12 suffer from this - or all the time, at least for me.

I am experiencing this from time to time also. What helps is right-clicking the PT icon in the taskbar and choosing "Close". The dialog box pops up that asks you if you want to save your project or something, click Cancel.
Good thing is that the PT windows comes back...

This has been a bug since v11 to my memory. The work around is to click on the session icon and it reloads, you have to make sure you click save. Best course of action is to not minimize. Bring up any apps you need over the top and minimize that.
