feedback on PreSonus StudioLive 24.4.2 and Series 3 SL24 and PT2018.7

looking for folks who are using or have experience with the PreSonus StudioLive 24.4.2 and the newer series 3 SL24.

I might be able to get a SL 24.4.2 for $1000.00 which would be cheaper than similar audio interface of possibly less quality. But they are also obsolete so getting it fixed or getting spare parts when things start fail the local distributer says will be highly unlikely, which I feel is a good point even though thats what he is paid to say. So also looking at the newer series 3 SL24 ($3800.00). But then reading through the PreSonus QandA site there looks like the newer StudioLive series 3 desks have some issues running Pro Tools.

So looking to see if any Pro Tools users here using these desks and there thoughts, issues and or successes before I make such an investment. is there something similar on the market that folks are using....

I'm looking for a desk I can use as an audio interface with PT2018.7 as well as a live FOH desk for pub gigs with our band.

The Series III is vastly different(and much better) from the older Presonus(without moving faders). If your budget can't handle the series III, I would look at the Behringer X32 Compact or Midas M32R

Thank you for you suggestions. Have you personal experience with either of these two consoles? Not too worried about automated faders as with the 24.4.2 from a recording perspective I rather PT take care of that. My concerns are it working with PT2018.7 and the MBP listed in my signature. As an audio interface I hear the 24.4.2 works well with PT but there are issues with PreSonus’s new series 3. I have also looked at using their AVB Ethernet network connection but apparently there are issues with that and High Sierra too.... and so will have to wait for Apple to sort that out apparently.

The Behringer X32 looks ok, preferably looking for something in the 24 channel range.
