Default navigating during Loop play without removing the loop

hi, Im trying to navigate through my mix during a loop but once i click somewhere in the timeline the loop cancels out.
meaning if I have a 16 bar loop repeating and i click bar 9 on the transport bar the track stops looping.
thanks
