How loud is a Control 24? Does it have a fan?
Hi,
How loud is your Command 24? Does it have a fan? Can you record in your control room? I have a Control 24 on order and I am trying to make my control room as quiet as possible, so I'm wondering if it's loud. I checked the manuals and they don't make any mention of a fan, just a heatsink. Thanks for your responses! |

There is no noise emitting from the C24. Mine is quiet.

Re: How loud is a Control 24? Does it have a fan?
Thanks guys for your responses. I was just trying to get a leg up on quieting my control room down and now I don't have to worry about the C24. For some reason I just figure that all pro gear is loud because no one tracks acoustic material in pro control rooms.
Well done, Digi, for making a quiet unit! |

There is no fan, but it you automate the faders they can make noise if you do major and rapid changes.
Option is to change to master faders, if it is distracting. regards Scotsman |

Re: How loud is a Control 24? Does it have a fan?
The faders on the C-24, make "clicking" sounds as they move up and down. The movement doesn't have to be rapid. The clicks occur as the faders change directions up and down. It adds up if a number of faders in a group are moving together. I think they would be picked up by a mic if you were sitting at the console doing a vocal. As scotsman says, you can select the "Masters" button to make the channel faders go away, but then you don't have control of the mix as you work. You could probably hide all the tracks except the mic and track returns for whatever you're working on so only a few faders are on the surface. You'll just have to experiment to see how best to work around the noise. Pro Control and D-Command faders are silent.
