Default Features of midi editor

Please,a question.
(I did google searches but I do not find nothing)
Before installing new software I need to know:

If in pro tools first and in pro tools, there are some midi features I need.
I need features for create chords in the midi editor, and other features.
These features are listed in the attachments.
(arpeggiate,legato and others)

If there are not these features in pro tools,
I want know if these features are availble as plugins

Thanks very much.

You could flip through the manual and find this info.

You could also search for MIDI plugins like Cthulu for example that will do what you’re after.

The manual is the “Pro Tools Reference Guide”. A well written large volume that contains lots of stuff which covers Pro Tools (standard) and Pro Tools Ultimate. Pro Tools First is not separately well documented but behaves much like Pro Tools but with some severe restrictions. And it starts off free so you can always download it and play to answer any questions. Be careful to understand all the limitations of First, well described on Avids main Pro Tools product pages. I could not see wanting to use First for anything myself because of its limitations.

The whole doc set is here: https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...-Documentation

I searched the reference guide from page 745,where start midi editor instrunctions.
I did not find nothing about how to input chords like in fl studio or cubase.

I have a question:
I read on the internet pro tools is an industry standard, but only for recording or also for editing notes in the midi editor?
If pro tools users works directly in the midi editor I think they will use plugins like cthulu for chords.

That’s because it doesn’t exist.

People who use Pro Tools either play the chords in with a keyboard or if they need to use a chord or arpeggiator style plugin, they’ll use something like Cthulu or one of the many other chord/arp/scaler plugins available.

Best is a subjective term. Don’t get hung up on silly terms like that. Use what works for you, not what someone tells you you should be using.

And lets not forget that 3rd party plugins need to be bought thru Avid webstore or inside PT | First to work. Plugins bought from 3rd party developers will not run under the Free PT First version..

True.

So really, there’s probably no chord/scale like plugins that will run in PT First then.
