Is it worth to sell Digi 003?
Hello there good people!
I have a specific question to you: It is about a year that I use Digi 003 Rack. It is nice, but it was my first such purchase so I can't make a comparison to other hardware as I have never owned a firewire sound interface before. But the fact that Pro Tools ROCKS is obvious - it is a pleasure to use this DAW! I record only electric and base guitar myself via various preamp-processors for direct recording. The rest of the things I do with virtual instruments and plug-ins. In other words I use only one channel. Is it worth to sell Digi 003 and get for example M-audio Delta 1010LT PCI card with PT8 M-Powered? Will the guitar signal go to PT with relatively the same quality and conversation? ----- Well, of course I can keep 003, but some $1000 will be another step to Fender Custom Shop! :) |

Well, that card is PCI, so it won't work in any new Mac sold in about the last 4 years.. If you are actually on a PEECEE you might have PCI slots...
There are several M audio products that use USB or Firewire that should work fine for 1 or 2 channels of input, but I can't give you any subjective info on the quality.. A Digi Mbox2 or Mbox2 MINI might work for you too....
