Default Buying audio interface without buy Pro tools... again

Hey guys, I just had two questions really.

First off, I plan to use pro tools LE 7.4 for just mixing right now. I don't plan to record with it. Is there anyway, I could use my other USB interface to monitor? From what I'm reading it's looking bleak.

If this is the case, does anyone know anywhere where I could buy just a cheap interface, so I don't have to pay for pro tools... again?

Any answers are helpful. Thanks!
-Erik

I did like the versatility of that, however it still requires me to buy pro tools again. If I could get that alone that would be awesome.

because with LE the interface is the security there is 0 way to purchase without also purchasing Pro Tools. I just saw an Mbox 2 go for $150 on ebay so seems to me since you don't care about sofware just pick up a used one. I have not found a way to make a new mbox2 work without re installing pro tools just FYI.

What "other"USB interface are you talking about?
You need to use an.....here we go, "AVID" audio interface to run 7.4 unless you're running M Powered, and then you need one of (what are M-Audio's interfaces called now?)
You get the picture.
I see Mbox's for $100 all day long on Craigslist, or Mbox 2's for $200, etc

Pro Tools won't recognize that as a valid interface. I would get a used original Mbox for $100 and use that. Are you running LE or M-Powered?

What helps to make sense of the way AVID/Digidesign licenses their products is the following. Since the Protools LE software won't work without the AVID/Digidesign interface, you buy the interface and the Protools software is free. If you want to use another AVID/Digidesign interface, you need to buy the interface but again the software is free so you are not really buying it again. Protools LE will not work with a non-AVID/Digidesign interface so there is no need to ask further. The AVID/Digidesign interface is their copy protection dongle.
