Default Fast Track Duo Burst of Noise

Hello,

I have 30 avid fast track duo in an audio lab working with Pro Tools 11, for no particular reason, it bursts overwhelming noise, digital distortion type. The computer is a Windows 7 HP Z400, it doesn't happen in my macbook pro, pc issue only..

I have read about a couple o similar cases without success...

Thanks for your comments.

Does this happen with all of them or just one? (I'm reading that right? You have 30 of them?)

Driver version? Same USB cables switching between the Mac and Windows?

Joel

Yes, 30 in a classroom, it's an Audio Lab,

- Using the USB cable that came with the interfaces.
- In Mac works like a champ, but in the PC's it's random ear shattering bursts of noise, not good for the students
- Latest Win7 driver installed (June 20, 2013).

Thanks for answering.

My Fast track duo is doing the same thing to me on my windows machiene, i dont have a mac to test it on. The thing is killing my ears. I am on the fence about selling it and getting a focusrite interface.

were you ever able to solve this problem.

Hi Folks,

Haven't been able to solve the mistery. The interfaces are locked up, and right now we're trying to get a classroom with mac's to get them working.
Did all I could within the avid technical docs on the PC, but no success. I suspect it's the Xeon processor, I tried them on a i7 PC and it worked with no noise.

Cheers!

Could it be a 3rd party plugin that has lost its authorization?

Have you tried a clean OS install, only Pro Tools and the FT driver?
