Problem w/tracks showing up-import audio

With the dialog box:

Locate the disc you want to import from on the desktop.

Open the disc, locate the track you want to import, highlight it, then Click add.

M Brane.-The problem I had with this is that when I opened the disk there was no audio tracks listed-it showed up blank.Do you know what I am doin wrong?
I put the CD in the CD rom and it does have aiff audio on it.It plays in i tunes But the tracks did not show up under CD 1 in the diolog box.

Man I really want to learn this.
I appreciate insight if you got any.

Hmmmmm. You haven't disabled your CD access extensions in your PTF set, have you?

You can always rip the tracks to AIFF's with SoundApp or iTunes, then import 'em. Actually I think SoundApp can rip directly to SDII files.

I just tried importing an 192kbps mp3 with the IAFOM command. It was converting, but after a hour it was only 1/3 done! [img]images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/img] Decided to wait until I go to bed. It should be done by morning. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

The site is screwy. When I try to open your new thread in Netscape all I get is a grey page with a little square in the upper left corner. I can open it in IE, but when I try to reply it says I'm not logged in. I logged in, but when it forwards me to the reply it says I'm not logged in again. [img]images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/img]

From your other thread:
#1) Should I disable cd access ext?
Would it affect other things in a negative way?

Keep those extensions enabled so you can access discs without having to switch sets.

#2). I tried ripping aiff into i tunes and opening them into pro tools and I just could not find the songs once in PT.
Where do I look to find the songs I ripped into I tunes once I am in PT.?

The songs should be in your iTunes music folder. They're probably in a subfolder called Unknown artist->Unknown album. This is one downside to iTunes. That's why I always name the files I import with it so I don't have 1,000 files named "Track 1" etc.

Thanks for the advice on the thread.
As for i tunes,I will have to try putting the aiff file in some kind of document folder that i tunes tells me to do.Otherwise i tunes wont let me export to anywhere.(accept within i tunes itself)
I have not tried this yet but I will soon.
I am sure learning a lot about computers.

( just got a new i book and PT is new to me as of only a month so I am at elementry level with it's language-not with playing my ax or mixing on my digital tascam 788 though)
