Amek 9098 vs. Neve 1272 Sound Quality

I am in research mode for purchase decision and am curious if anyone has a/b'd these? Is 9098 Class A? I know there is another thread on this but have not seen any info. on these two compared to each other.

Any info. appreciated!

The 9098 is margarine.
The 1272 is butter.

Which do you prefer?

I like butter. I talked with Brent Averill Enterprises today and it does sound like a great unit. I will be using it on male rock vocals.

Vintech makes a good unit too...1272 in a rackmount...all class A.
