Focusrite 2i2 and pro tools 12.7 interface

I'm trying to interface My Scarlett 2i2 in protools 12.7 through my mac lab top but I'm not getting any mic or headphones I am a new user to protools and the Scarlett can someone give me insight.

Clear details... what exactly is selected as the Pro Tools playback engine?

Clear details... what exact model Mac?

Clear details.. what exact make/model headphone are you talking about? Connected to the Mac or 2i2 interface? With exactly what type of cable/connector/adapter? Do the headphones and any adapters and cables work elsewhere?

Clear details.... what exactly are you trying to do? Playback or tracking/monitoring? Does anything work?

You should first create an empty session, and drag and drop a known good mp3 or similar audio file into a stereo audio track and see if that plays through the main outputs. Do the Pro Tools Track meters move? what do you hear on headphones and main output monitors? Are they turned up?

Scarlett 2i2 is what I selected in Protools playback engine.


MacOS Sierra
Version 10.12.6

Mac Book Pro Retina, 15 inch 2.8 GH Intel Core i7
16 Gb 1600 MHz DdR3


Mic is Mojave MA 1000
Headphones are Audio Technicha ATH M50x
Never tried else where this stuff is all new first time using.

Playback and tracking
Monitors are working
