SYNC HD does not retain it's settings upon PT quit

Hey All,

New user here, been trying to figure out this issue for a while with no help from AVID besides them saying a year ago that they know about the problem and they're trying to fix it.

Massive studio setup, but at the core of it, we're using a SYNC HD as our master clock and running everything else off of Loop Sync. Main interfaces are 2 Focusrite Rednet 5's, and all IO is 16 Rednet 2's.

Let's start the scenario while operating PT. The SYNC HD is set to Internal VSO as the clock source (since it is our master clock), and everything else is running off of the loop sync. Everything works fine, besides the occasional but not surprising PT random CPU overload, maybe once every 10 days (unless that shouldn't be happening?). However, once PT is closed and quit, the SYNC HD clock reference switched down to Loop Sync, the next reference available if you hit the "clock reference" button on the device (not sure if that's just a coincidence). This messes up the clocking for all the other devices connected until I physically go back to the SYNC and change the clock reference back to Internal VSO.

Is there anyway to stop the SYNC HD from changing it's stand alone settings after it switched from remote mode from PTs? Does anyone else have this a similar setup and issue?

Please let me know if this made sense as well haha, it's a weird issue to explain.
