Default Expiration Date for my Upgrade Plan in MyAvid is incorrect

Hi guys

I have looked around but can't seem to find an answer to my query.

I have two PT12 standard perpetual licenses.

Yesterday when I logged into my Avid account the expiry date for the Annual Upgrade Plan displayed as 31 March 2016. Today I decided to renew one of the annual upgrade plans. Now the expiry date states Dec 22 2016.

I feel as if I have been cheated out of 3 months and 9 days of my upgrade plan?

Can someone please clarify what I am missing here? Were they 3 "bonus" months when I upgraded to PT12?

As far as I knew, today I purchased a 1 year/ 12-month upgrade plan renewal, not an "almost 9 month" upgrade plan renewal.

This whole renewal / plan / subscription business comes across as messy and confusing. Some clarification would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone else experienced this?

Regards
Vaughan

Yes! The same thing just happened to me, but my expiry is Nov 12, 2016. Very confusing. I wonder if it's because I only chose the Annual Upgrade Plan, and not the additional Annual Plug-Ins and Support Plan. Or because I waited until the last day?

I wish the expiration was March 31st, 2017. That was my expectation.

I renewed my pro tools upgrade plan today and the new expiration date is December 14, 2016 not March 31, 2017. What's going on here, that's less than 9 months for what was supposed to be a year plan.

I have been getting support e-mails from Avid for the last couple of weeks, trying to renew my PT12 license from Dec 2014 (+3 months gratis)
Problem was that there were no links on my Avid account to enable this.
This was down to me (on a hiatus from recording) as i had not activated the PT12 at ilok and i needed to activate so that the previous license PT11 could be surrendered.
Having now done that a few days ago (pre 31st March 2016) my Avid account showed the Upgrade as 'Expired" at Dec 2015 …no extra 3 months in other words.
Avid have now confirmed that i am indeed entitled to the extra 3months to March 31st 2016 … BUT and to quote.
---
There has been some system updates and some clients were affected but we are currently rectifying this. Once rectified, you should be able to renew your Annual Upgrade and Support Plan. Please note that there is a 30-day grace period upon expiration of the plan so you should still be able to renew even after it has expired.
---
Its good i pushed it though as the very first e-mail i got from Avid said that i needed to go to a reseller and that they could not help. they apologised for that initial response and have since been helping.
Not saying all would have been fine if i had activated from the start but it should work out eventually. I also got lots of mail advising me to renew my Media Composer…which i don't own.
So, i sit and wait now until something develops. Either my Avid account updates the status, or i get a mail from support advising me.
The grace period obviously helps.

Yes, but I first bought the plan in 2015 (with the bonus 3 months). So it's just a year past Nov 12, 2015. A 7 month yearly plan for me.

So no official comments with regard to the missing months on the update plan expiration date then?

I'm not missing any months. Plan expired March 31, 2016 and my renewal shows Mar 31, 2017.

I renewed on 31st March 2016, the final day of my upgrade plan coverage. It now states my renewal is due on 22nd December 2016.

If you pay money for an ANNUAL update plan surely you are entitled to 365 full days from the date of expiration?

Definitely the last time I'm forking out for this nonsense. It's expensive when converting from foreign currency at a 15-to-1 exchange rate. Where is my 3-month discount for the days I am not getting?

If you did a renewal on 3/31/2016 then your plan should run through 3/31/2017. Started a support case on your behalf to get this fixed.
