Default anyone using an 002 on new mirror door 1 ghz while booting os9?

hey,
just want to see if anyone is using the new powermac dual 1ghz AGP G4 with an 002. what is the performance like while in os9? since pt6 won't be ready for the 002-osX til summer. i was gonna get the 001 but i don't want that hang-init problem hovering over me. so it's mbox or 002. i know the mbox is good but 2 inputs doesn't warrant $500 from me.

I've got that set up. I've been using it for several months. I haven't run the DaveC test or any of the other standards to figure out what my upper limit is at thie point. No need. This is my first mac/pt rig and it seems like a real hotrod to me. I've worked in several 30 track sessions with no problem. But all these are light on the plugins. I don't use plugins that much. I know if I try to use Amplitude on 4 or 5 tracks it really starts to eat up processing power. If you want me to run a specific test, let me know and I'll give you the results.

good luck

thanks for the info. basically i'm a one man band, so the mbox is good enough for what i want to do. but i don't want just good enough. i think the sound at 44.1 sounds good on my roland vs880ex, but i want to hear 96khz, and i don't want to deal with latency issues. what's the latency like on the 002? do you have to monitor straight off the board or do you monitor from the CPU?? i don't think i'll be using many plugins, a handful of reverb, delay, i'm gonna get jazz drum samples and patch em in and record my guitar, bass, piano over top-simple. no midi. i wish the 001 wasn't so iffy on dual agp's. i've got 768mb of memory so i think i'm good there too.
