It's good to have jokes explained.
Thank you.

I did once record the sound of my running a wet finger over the rim of several glasses to produce that distinctive resonating sound. Looking at the waveform later (in Cubase, as I recall) I was amazed at the complexity of the thing. There were at least three sine waves superimposed on each other, plus odd bits of dustortion. (distortion too!)
Of course i could go back to that recording, look at it closely, and try to reproduce it. but i thought that maybe there was a way I could save myself the trouble...

what the f*** are you guys on?
This is some American thing, right? Some kind kind of hysterical jollity brought on by a new found faith in the wisdom of this person you've chosen for your glorious leader?

p.s. Thanks for the theramin link. Well intentioned, I'm sure, but my browser went into a loop, potentially creating an infinitely long page until I hit the stop icon. Clicked on a link, and got on to a Spanish site sporting a jpeg of a very accomodating looking young lady.
So what is the plug-in called? I'll do a search.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Easy now, relax.

Why is it that everytime a non-American doesn't get a piece of American humor, they get testy?

This isn't a political thread, and those weren't political jokes, just random humor based on the fact that Al Gore (our ex-vice president), once alluded to the "fact" thay he invented the Internet. I then made a tie-in to the afformentioned founding father & inventor Benjamin Franklin.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">that's basically what a glass harmonica is. why not build a midi glass harmonica instrument? this sounds like a good project. if you record a bunch of different samples with different notes (larger glasses, smaller glasses, more water, less water), and send them to me, i'll make a soundfont out of it. most software samplers import soundfonts. the reason nnxt imports soundfonts.

i'd record it myself, but i just don't have a quiet enough room to do the sounds justice...

this sounds cool. send me an email if you're interested.

I've done that glass trick too. Easy as pie. Somehow, wine seems to work much better than water, plus what other reason do you have to shotgun 7 glasses of wine?

What? I'm cleaning up. I'm clemaniming gup. I'm flisshh hic! Swirly! Swirly! <thud>

(For you non-americans, that's the sound of me hitting the ground. Bloody commies ;-)
