sux, i think i will go back to mountain lion. logic pro 9 and reason 5 don't load here... wtf mavericks

edit...

i fixed it.. for some reason i had some digi drivers at library/audio/midi..drivers.. something like this.... and logic 9 was freezing at midi.. so i googled this [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep].. and i deleted this files and now both reason and logic 9 works.. too bad mbox mini 2 doesnt works :/

new edit..

i set my mbox 2 mini at 4096 buffer size at reason 5 and it has SOUND!

but not works on logic 9 since maximum is 1024 i think and pro tools maximum is 2048, sux!

Rangio -

So just to clarify, your MBox 2 (NOT mini) is working fine, recording fine, etc?

I have a Fall 2010 MB Pro, i7 processor, running Pro Tools LE 8.0.5, and have an MBox2.

I'm on Mountain Lion but would like to upgrade to Maverick but am apprehensive, particularly because of the compatibility messages that seem to say it won't work...of course, it sounded like that for Mountain Lion to and I had no problems...

My audio worked after upgrading to Mavericks from Mountain Lion (ML) then after 24 hours listening to music, upgrading iLife, editing settings (not audio) and rebooting, it stopped working.

I upgraded and tested the new iTunes, iMovie and Garageband and VLC. After this i turned the computer off for the night. Next day the audio was not working, just with static noise and a clip every so often.

All settings are good and i have reinstalled the driver Mbox_2_USB_10_3_3_Driver_79050.dmg

I see the Mbox in the prefspane and i can choose it but i cant switch to internal speaker and back. It wont do the switch even if the internal is marked. So i pull out the USB-cable and the switch is done.

I have MacBook Pro 13" from 2011 w. Mbox2 USB. I upgraded from Mountain Lion from the Appstore the same night it got out. Most recent Mbox2 Firmware too.

So really i installed Garageband, rebooted and audio *gone* !
EDIT: Some days later i have rebooted a couple of times wo USB connected and today I reconnected it and now it works again.
EDIT: put the midi driver files back, rebooted and no sound again. It might be those two files that brings it down.

I just upgraded to Mavericks on my 2010 MacBook Pro with the MBox 2 and am experiencing no audio output from the headphone jack on the MBox and a "crackling" sound, which sounds more inline with digital artifacts, when recording vocals using Garageband.

We recorded just prior to the Mavericks update and all systems were go and sound was fine. After the update to Mavericks, not so much...

Any idea on updated drivers for the MBox that would resolve the audio I/O issues?

I've now update my Mac Pro to Mavericks and can happily report the same, that after re-installing the Mbox2 drivers, everything is working perfectly fine.
Hope everyone else has the same experience.

Hi, I managed to get protools 8.05 working on Mavericks.
I installed protools first then,
- Mbox_2_USB_10_3_3_Driver_79050-2
Its the driver for protools 10.
To get play back through the headphones go to playback engine and crank the buffer to 2048.
I tried the other buffers ->1048 is scratchy
and anything under this there nothing.

Hope this helps! :)
Regards Gerard

It unfortunate that there's now epic latency but at least it's working and I don't have to go back to the previous OS. But I might do it??? when I have some time. Hopefully digidesign come out with a fix or apple but how knows when that will happen???
