Default And now for something entirely different...

With so many male/rap/metal/hard rock tracks being posted, I thought it might be of value to post a PT LE recording/mix of a different style to hear how the setup handles another set of frequencies.

No feedback is necessary. I just thought posting another style of recording might let a prospective buyer/user hear a slightly different capability of the rig.

ALERT! Chick singer ahead!

Parker9. Very nice. I like this one alot.Nice organ and Rhodes type sound. Is that a drum machine? You didn't asked but I might try a different bass tone and line.Great to here something positive and I didn't get mother****ed up and down the side of my head or smothered in attitude while being draged through some ambiant hell.Didn't even have to ask my family to leave the room while I played It!We are spirtitual beings, and we shape ourself's with what we feed our minds.Ok enough of that. Great song, Great artist, Good job. Brad.

Very nice vocals. I like the bass tone. It gave a lot of body to the song.

Excellent example of what PTLE/001 is capable of in the hands of a very talented songwriter/producer/engineer.

I enjoyed it very much. Please post something else when you get a chance.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'll let the artist know you liked her writing/voice.

Well, no, onezero, it's a Demeter VTMP-2B -- good ears. I think the vocal signal path is Neumann TLM 103 > Demeter pre > either RNC or Distressor > Digi 001.

I posted this little preproduction piece because in the same way that faces and flesh-tones are the hardest parts of a picture to get right, in my opinion, voices and acoustic instruments are the hardest to capture accurately on recordings. Nearly every track that I've heard on this forum, though well done, didn't really show a prospective user/buyer if the 001 is able to nail miked acoustic instruments. I thought it would be worth a small dose of adult contempory schmaltziness to hear something a little different.

Yep, agree with what's been said. Nice vocal sound, but you could hardly go wrong anyway with a voice as good as that (not to take away from your work, just saying talent will always tanscend technology)

One minor thing - sounds like the singer herself doubling on the choruses. That places the song firmly in the realms of "album track" because it sounds "produced". But the recording has a nice ambience and sounds like it could have been played live. If you used another voice on the chorus it might sound less produced?

Dunno, just nit-picking really. Nice job.

wow, great vocal sound!
apart from the hardware you used, what type of processing within PTLE did you do (reverbs etc...)? (for those of us limited on the experience side of things)
