Default Mac Pro 2012 -should upgrade to Mojave?

Hi,

I am on a mac Pro 2012 2 x 2.4 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon

I am using Mac Sierra with Pro Tools Ultimate and an HDX card and all is going good.

I heard that PT 2019.5 with mojave .......would make PT even more solid and faster and lighter on CPU

Should I move to Mojave ...maybe High Sierra ......and Install PT2019.5?

any advise?

First MacOS, upgrade PT or Unistall PT Ultimate First?

Thanks

Which GPU you have installed? First check that, and upgrade if it isn't on this list

Why not just run 2019.5 with Sierra? Check over in the PT2019 subforum where several people are doing just that. The stock video card in a 5,1 cheesegrater won't run Mojave.

Yep. Runs fine on Sierra.

OS upgrades, IMHO, are the LAST thing you want to do unless there’s a specific reason.

If you've got an Apple approved graphics card, go for Mojave, otherwise do High Sierra.

My upgraded 5,1 is running better than it has since PT 9 on PT 2019.5 and 10.14.5.
