Interlok Issues, Installation Issues?

Hey All,

I recently purchased protools just a few days ago (just got it in the mail yesterday) and went through a series of issues that would have had me returning this product had I didnt have faith that it is all cracked up what it's supposed to be!

For one: I had to update the Ilok drivers (why wasnt this in the freakin manual? That would have saved me the blue screen and critical crashes)

For two: When I run protools it says it needs to authorize SEVERAL ILOKS for plugins that are SUPPOSED to come with my package (atleast that's what I thought? or are they? how do I know? Where do I look to see what comes with my freakin package?)

Sorry, I'm highly annoyed, but please bare with me. I really wnat to get this to work. Can anyone tell me how to find my interlok codes? Where are they and how do I find them? How do I know what came with my package anyway? I'm totally confused

Software doesn't stand still. Updates continue on a daily basis, and anything that has been sitting on a shelf for any length of time (even as short as one week) will need to be updated.

And by the way, it IS covered in the Getting Started guide; on the first few pages it is recommended that you check the compatibility of your machine on this website, and updating the PACE drivers is covered there.

Not all of the plugins that are included on the installation disks are included with the software. Those installers are included as a convenience for users who already own those plugins so that they don't have to download installers and/or updaters.

If the package that you bought included those plugins, it would have come with an ilok with the authorizations already on it.

If you installed plugins that are prompting you for authorizations, those are the ones that DO NOT come with the system and you would have to purchase an ilok and the plugin(s) in question.
