Default Headphone mixes; how to

Digi 002/PT 7.3cs/1ghz powerbook G4 1gig RAm/

I have a Rolls 8 channel headphone amp and am trying to figure out how to get 6 different headphone mixes - or at least one headphone mix. Do I use 'aux sends' to my digi 002 outs? I'm worried about processor load etc. Thanks for the help.

There are a few ways to do it so here's my method. Remember that you can't use low latency mode AND use aux sends while recording so you need a computer that will handle the load at 64 or 128 buffer setting. I run the master outs into a Presonus Central Station. From there, I feed a Behringer HA4700 headphone amp master inputs. This unit has 4 sections that each have an aux input. So the master stereo mix feeds all 4 sections and then I can run an aux send to an analog output, patched to each section so 4 players can each have "more me". Before I had the Central Station, I just fed the headphone amp from the actual headphone output on the 002 with the same results. You could just feed aux send>analog outputs into the headphone amp.

What I have had a lot of success with (001!) is to select a particular channel output, hold down command, and select an analog output. The 001 will "double up" on that output, sending it to the 2 mix and the selected analog out, which I then route to one of the inputs of my Furman cue system. works great, and saves on auxes, too.

Ok - I think I've got it - though I guess I'd rather go no latency than 'more me' with aux sends. But - how to do it:
Main digi002 outs to Rolls 6 L/Right for basic tracks - and let's say
Aux send on track to output 7 - connect to aux input of headphone amp for channel X - but won't this just be the track info and no basic mix?

I don't think I understand aux sends, ugh.

Now that I understand Aux sends (not so tough), my Rolls unit is either/or - that is either individual channel input or stereo master for all channels. as soon as I plug from digi 002 out into separate channel in - the master stereo is defeated. useless!

your best choice is creating dedicated stereo pair mixes with auxes, one for each musician. You can then use a spare input, if you have one, to send talkback to all the mixes. One of the joys of HD is the option to copy you main mix to the auxes, which is left out of LE,
