HD 11 will come with the purchase of an HD system, which includes card and interface. This includes both HDX and HD Native.

It does not come with the purchase of an HD interface.

Note that you can still trade in your HD2 system for an HDX system and get a discount. Even with the trade in, you will still get the free upgrade to HD11, along with HD10 to use in the meantime.

Considering the cost of just buying an HD8 to HD11 upgrade (not sure what that price is), you may want to consider that.

I like the idea that you can run 10 and 11 on the same system. Also curious if my TDM hardware will work even if TDM plugins won't. Wondering though, does this mean converting my iLok 10.x PT HD license to 11 WILL in fact allow me to run version 10? This would be a deal breaker for me.

I would need to sit down and make a list of all my hardware and essential plugins and really analyze whether I can afford to upgrade. There should be a software tool to help make this easier. I expect ebay and the DUC Buy/Sell to light up now that it's official.

Would be SUPER cool of Avid if they allow "legacy" HD to run PT11 as a CoreAudio device.
