PTLe (Midi & Editing) D8b-Hdr (Audio) "Missed sync point...limit disk allocation"

"Missed sync point, due to time spent allocating disk space, please use larger pre-roll or limit disk allocation."

This is the message when I try to record in Ptle (midi or audio and I only have two tracks on this test song). Everything is being started (mmc) by the D8b. It syncs fine when not in record mode.

How and where can I use a larger pre-roll, I tried the one on the ptle transport and in the D8b. I have set the disk allocation limit to 10 minutes, the H/W buffer size to 128 and the cache is at 512 and still nothing. any ideas????
