Mbox2 mini - distorted sound in all programs

Hi all,

I am out of ideas here. I have a brand new PC running win 7 64 bit, and after installing LE 8.0.4, the sound output of the Mbox is horribly distorted in all applications, even windows sounds. It sounds like you have a distortion plugin turned on and a setting like "fried" selected. Even when you adjust the volume in windows and it makes the marimba sound, it sounds like you put some metallic reverb and distortion on it.

I have been able to get 8.0.4 to work in win 7 64bit on my last PC, but this one just will not work. I have disabled onboard sound, and no other sound devices are active in playback devices.

Please tell me someone knows how to fix this. It has to be a driver problem..

Sorry, I cant help you.

I have exactly the same problem on my mbox2 (not mini).

My problem appears after about 5 minutes of use... only way to stop it is to quit pt, unplug mbox and plug it back in again.

I have not been able to find much info on this problem. Have tried everything. Including changing usb ports (sometimes works apparently)

The conclusion I am coming to is that my mbox is dying.
