Default How to turn an "S" to a "Z" wtih editing

Hi,

I've just mixed a song and the singer has just realised that she did a mistake pronouncing a word.

There's an "S" which should be a "Z"

I'd like to know if someone ever faced sth like this and solved it in Protools (without re-recording o.c, just editing/plugins)

P.S. there's no other Zs in other parts of song.

look for a word that starts with a sharp "t" and glue the very first part where the start of the "s" is. You may have to shorten the s as well. Maybe you want to pitch the s a little up or sharpen it a little with the EQ. You might bring it a little up in level as well. I would arrange the t, s, and the rest of the word on 3 tracks, so you can change the 3 parts faster .

hope this helps

Funny. Usually with us lazy Longk Oilanders it is the other way around!
Adding the T to the S as previously mentioned will work in Deutschland, where Z is pronounced "ts" as in "Zeit". Take that advice, and add a snippet of a sung note, pitched and with a soft attack, and this will give you a "hum" in the back of the "ts" and you should have a Z. You may need to tweak the T out, because an english Z is really a S with a hum.

Huked on phoniks werkd four mee!

Thanks for the answers. I solved the issue by stealing a "Z" from another song of the singer and duplicating.
btw I'm also going to try the tips mentioned above, they sound pretty interesting.
