Default Upgrading from 96 to 192

Greetings, I am at the point to where I am thinking about upgrading one of my 96 HD interfaces to a 192 digital + analog interface. Considering that I will route I/o signals from the 192 to my pro control, which would be a great candidate for my upgrade? FWIW, my current setup is working flawlessly with a 96 I/O + 96i + sync I/O with my 96 I/o inputs routed to my ProControl. Therefore I wanted to get some input from the DUC to see if it would be feasible to upgrade one of my interfaces so I can get a better sound in my current rig which is analogue.

I was thinking I’d drop the 96i, make the 192 the primary & have my 96i/o the expansion. Then I’d route my 192 input signal through my ProControl. Would this make any sense or should I stick where I am.

Thanks guys
Rick

Exactly what I would do The converters in the 96 IO are on par with the old 003, so the 192 should be a solid upgrade(I know folks that still prefer the 192 over the newer HD IO boxes). The only important thing to remember(for both 192 and HD IO) is if you unbalance the outputs, DO NOT ground the cold side

Thanks for the input. I was watching 3 192’s on eBay. The cheapest is 199 but it’s completely digital. Then there’s one on the pricier side but it has all four slots full & it’s both Digital and analog. Think I’d grab that one, a db25 to db25 & sell my 96i to compensate the difference

I was lucky to grab this one for 375+ shipping. Got digi db25 to db25 all for 495 😀 now it’s time to stalk USPS 😂😂😂

Pretty soon I’ll be ready to sell a smoke free 96i, if anyone is interested, drop a reply and I’ll share the eBay listing

Before you sell, try it with 192 as master clock -- you'll be surprised that the sound opens up when you have a better clock, almost like you're recording 96kHz instead of 48kHz

Are you suggesting that I run both 96’s with 192 or only use the 96i over the 96i/o? Thanks for your response
