Default Re: S3L-X twice the RAM of S3L

"What that actually means is the S3L engine ran on Windows XP and was 32 bit. The new S3 engine runs on Windows 8 and is 64 bit. This software change needs more RAM so you need to double the RAM in the S3 Engine, but once that is done and the OS is upgraded you have a new machine. It is hoped that there will be an upgrade kit available to enable existing S3L owners to upgrade and get the X bit."

I think that clarifies an important thing: Venue 4.5 will require more ram. So it is not really a free software only upgrade, is it?

A free software and free RAM upgrade I would have thought.

This will also enable the S3 to use AAX plug ins.

The S3 already uses AAX plug ins. Can you be more specific?

Is it just me or does 2gig of memory seem like not a lot with today’s computers. I just looked on Newegg.com and it looks like one stick of 8gigs of ram is about $80.00 US. Or can the S3L only use 2gig?
