My understanding is, that the 2019 will be released in the first week of may... without the HDX Feature Update... The HDX Update will come later or never... My theory is, that older HDX Cards are using another type of FPGA. So they cannot handle 384 voices.... So maybe the HDX update will only work with newer cards... This is only a theory and i hope, its not true...

Yes it does but I already wouldn’t use it, import tracks session data is much faster and come in already named - sends applied mult outputs and párellel busses already set up

Yes, the first week of May is the target date, but what i got was the card update feature was a ground up complete firmware rewrite, but because it caused issues on some 15% of legacy systems they are rewriting the original firmware instead of starting with all new code, the thinking being that what already works can(they hope) be tweaked to do the same thing that the new firmware did perfectly on 85% of the beta systems. They also stressed that they were adamant about not abandoning the HDX legacy stuff(for now anyway)

Is HDX now regarded as Legacy?

No... The problem is, that 15% of the beta testers with hdx had massive streaming errors with the new firmware. So Avid cannot deliver the voice count upgrade for hdx cards now... The question is, why so many cards cannot handle the new firmware... Are this old cards or is there another problem. I think Avid will never give us a statement about this...We will see, if the promised HDX voice upgrade will ever or never happen in the future...

But no problem for native users... you will get your voices and you can be lucky to buy more from avid... cause 2499 for software and 400 for the plan seems not enough... We need more cash more more more... our outsourced developement is very expensive... sry for sarcasm...

We get more voices, an audio engine, which can handle plugin changes in realtime...and of course double the midi tracks... and Mojave support...Wow amazing, steve jobs would have said... I always thought, Adobe is the abo cash grab, but they are really working on their suite...

Jfreak said... Yeah...mhhh... i mean, after Avid opened PT for third party interfaces. Everything is more complicated... Now the irony here is, that its not the third party world, which causes trouble... Nope, its Avids own hardware... but we will pay our plans and maybe use the in app purchases, cause avid has no money and they really need our help, so they can hire some more codes from russia or india again sry for sarcasm...

What happens in the months between Apple announcing a new OSX and releasing it to the public? Don't they send developers new OS's well before public release so they can work out issues? How long has Avid been working on Mojave certification?

Yes but AVID has probably not joined Apples developer program, yet!
