Well, getting your system ready for the upcoming OS and staying current doesn't mean upgrading on release day either.

Has anyone tried a clean install and then using migration assistant successfully? I know people say to not use migration assistant buy seems like it might be good if it works.

If you did do it, did anything not work? Anything require a reinstall? Plugin auths??

Thx

Has anyone had any issues running video/movie mixing with 10.13.6 and 2018.7?

I upgraded my Mac Pro to 10.13.6 last week and I did use migration assistant successfully on my iMac Pro. Aside from reauthorizing a couple of plugins (not from iLok, Waves, VSL, and other dongles), everything's working.
So, at least for me, migration was a success!
BTW, I've been playing with 128 buffer (64 is doable but pushing it) on this current PT and OS - it's been really smooth.

So many happy reports. I'm giddy. Feels like the first time I setup my 442 system.

One thing I noticed is, the performance meter in PT is a lot more sluggish and "non realtime" than it has been in previous versions.

I also noticed another problem. With some VI's, the performance meter won't update to show what they are using.. For example, Roland Jupiter 8 from the roland cloud sib.

It shows the cpu usage if the track is armed for realtime keyboard playing, but not when it's not. I added 6 of them playing 4 note chords, and my macbook real cpu usage was 80 percent across each core, and pro tools showed 5%.

it happened with another plugin 2 weeks ago and i thought it was a glitch and didn't take down which one it was, so obviously there's something in PT itself doing this.. It's persistent across restarts.
