Default Re: 2018.7 So Far...

I was getting an AAE 9060 error as soon as I hit play on 2018.4 and PT crashed; sometimes immediately and sometimes it took a minute or two. Since I updated to 2018.7 it appears that this issue has gone away. According to older posts this issue was related to corrupt audio files; but for me it was happening on MIDI projects as well as new projects that didn't have any tracks at all. I haven't fully tested some of my older projects, as I just updated to 2018.7 a day ago. Hopefully there are no new issues.

+1 here, Turned off updates for High Sierra I’m staying with 10.13.6 everything seems solid as and nice and quick to load.

I think 10.13.6 is the last update anyway. ...I installed it last week now that it's supposedly um, mature. Well, it's still garbage, and I do mean garbage. Wake from sleep is slower, boot is still taking ages, apps launch still slower, apps quitting slower, beachball every time I close a QT file, beachball every time I close a PT session.

I just finished cloning my HS installation. Will use the clone to reformat my SSD in HFS+ and clone my previous Sierra backup back to it.

"Your mac elevated" my ass! I thought system 7.5.2 was the worst in Apple history, but maybe High Sierra takes the cake.

Sierra is fine, fast and reliable. Unless Mojave has somethig more substancial in store than dark mode, I'll stay at 10.12.6 for the time being.

I think I liked Apple more when they were less concerned about being the world's richest company (the Cook era) and more concerned about being the world's best company (the Jobs era).

And I liked Digidesign when they were primarily focused on audio software.

I've seen numerous reports of High Sierra being a noticeable performance upgrade over Sierra. I wish I could say the same but unfortunately the 3 times I've tries HS, it was not a pleasing experience. I like to stay current, I like when huge files are copied or duplicated instantly in HS thanks to APFS, but for now Sierra is my home ....When we have the complete picture as to which GPU can be installed in cheese graters for Mojave compatibility I guess I'll make the jump eventually, but for now I'll just stay away from High Sierra. Glad to hear you don't have issues though

You're actually not wrong, it worked, both hardware and software, and limited to just a few computer options, so giving a full professional outlook.

What happened next was the Wild West, of computer cocktails and Avid loosing sight of the important stuff.

Disappointed that Multi-input mode in Audiosuite no longer treats dual mono / multi-mono tracks as stereo or 5.1.

Big fail for "vanilla" users who do multi-mono surround mixes and need to process / analyze mixes using Audiosuite plugins.

I wonder if this is an intentional 'bug fix' to force people into shelling out big cash for "ultimate" just so that they can get a 5.1 track? Multi-input mode has worked just fine for many many years so why mess it up now?
