Default insert delay

hi guys can someone explain insert delay tab please, i have a headphone amp connected to my 003 rack so do i need to enter anything in the insert delay tab? thanks

Nothing needs to be done for the headphone amp. Insert delay COMPENSATION is an amount you enter so that the time it takes for audio to travel out of the interface, thru an external piece of hardware(like a compressor) and back into Pro Tools, gets compensated for(by making all other tracks late by the same amount of time). This is usually in the range of 1-2ms.
